A Week in the Life ...

So ... what started out as a few sketches as I sat in waiting rooms in Seattle ....

... plus (almost) an entire week of my life since we returned ... ended up as this!

Finished* with less than 2 hours to spare before I head off to the Teacher's Meeting. It's kind of interesting, don't you think, that I plan to teach others how to make this quilt in 4 or 5 hours? So let me ask you this serious question (as opposed to the non-serious ones that I usually ask, but still want answers to):

When you sign up to take a class ... would you rather commit to a longer class time to be assured of getting more completed ... or does a shorter time grab your attention more, knowing you'll complete it at home anyway?

I seriously want to know.

*This is just the finished quilt top, mind you. Another lifetime will be spent in quilting, binding and attaching the knock-out doorknob.

As a young mom, short class, since there's a better chance of me attending and finding babysitting. In a dream world, however, I'd like a longer class so I could finish it up there. I would be more focused and more likely to do it.

Sorry I don't have a witty comment. You did ask a serious question.

i'm going to totally contradict myself but i'll say it anyway :P

a shorter class will get my attention and make me want to attend but if i don't get everything done in the class, the likelihood of me actually finishing at home is not good. therefore, i'd actually prefer a longer class so i know i could finish it... if i'd actually commit to that long of a class :P

sorry, i know that probably didn't help you at all :P

That quilt is scrumptious! Makes me all warm and fuzzy thinking of the holidays, but now I'm starting to get sweaty since its still summer in AZ :)

I think I would prefer a long class because I would need all the help I could get.

Wow! I am sosoooooo impressed! I would like a longer class, to finish the project there. But I do not have to find a babysitter....

OK, I just have to say that I could NOT figure out why this pictures turned out so fuzzy ... and then I noticed my camera was still on the "portrait" setting.

Duh.

Love the quilt. Already expressed my specific review to you personally. For my general impatience--shorter classes. For my tendancy to start but not finish projects--longer classes. For my adversion to most things fabric--a shorter class. If it's one on one and you're the teacher--a very, very long class--but I'm the only one who gets to say that.

longer class! It won't get finished if I take it home. It's worth the extra hours of a babysitter! And my sanity of getting a couple of hours to find joy in crafting!
