Flying Lessons

So ... with not much more to blog about ... I still have my birds. And I thought I would offer forth the following tip to those who, like me, might not have optimum space to pack ones sewing essentials.

The best tip of all is that I managed to make a template for the applique by using permanent marker on a plastic-paper-holder-thingy (which can be flipped to use either direction) which also serves as a carrier for the fabrics and applique pieces.

And here are a couple of my latest feathered friends. There are more, but let's face it ... I have to draw this out as long as possible.

Unless, of course, you are interested in pictures of the umpteen kajillion crossword puzzles I have also done.

I think your kit idea is FABULOUS! It made me think about doing that myself and I NEVER think about bringing a sewing project! BRAVO!!!

Ummm.... I take that last comment as an indication that you haven't done any logic puzzles yet. Hmph.

Your work looks so neat and tidy- do you fold the edges under? I need sewing lessons STAT!

Well they are very sweet. What a great applique project.

Well, Ginny, let's just say don't give up your day job before you sign on for the logic puzzle direct marketing plan. However, I have read many team profiles and league predictions in the College Football Preview magazine and have looked for a playing golf without your right arm, side, or shoulder piece in Golf Digest. But we're saving the logic puzzles for your next visit.

I think those birds (and the crosswords) may have saved Mary's sanity and certainly brought a piece of our simplehappyhome into our temporary and sparse quarters here in the Northwest.

I love them! They are adorable. I would love to learn how to sew. I mean really sew...(I already know how to make scrunchies.)

Hi Mary. That is a wonderful idea with the plastic bag. No extra bits of paper to store away too. I have so many ideas for quilts, so little time. Your work is indeed very tidy!
PS: I didn't realise folding the American flag is similar to that bag folding technique! Thanks for informing us... you leran something new everyday. :)
