Wrap Music

So ... I am trying to accomplish as much as I can before the time comes (very soon) when I must drop everything to put my house back together and actually decorate for Christmas. Today I (nearly) finished the wrapping, and I just wanted to show off my tags. These are another one of the Target Dollar Bin specials where you get 8 of these for ... you guessed it ... a dollar.

I am quite enamored with these guys who have both glitter and felting on them. This is some serious (and seriously cute) quality for the ol' dollar bin. I really enjoyed the wrapping this year. It's a Christmas Task that I either love or hate depending on how on top of it I am in any particular year.

"Oh, what's this?" you innocently ask. "Why it's a corner in my family room bay window that just happens to show off my new floor and my new base boards. I don't know how it got into this post? Dear me."

So spill. Wrapping: Hate it or Love it? And while your at it, how much do you love, love, love my floors?

Love the floors! Can hardly wait to see the whole thing. Hate the wrapping! I'm just not that good at it; and so frugal I hate to spend anything to make them look special. I've promised myself I'm going to try harder on the wrapping. Sally

WOW! LOVE the floors, with I had that! Like wrapping when I devote the time to also watching A CHRISTMAS STORY.

Kevin the handy-dandy man insists I point out that the base boards have not yet had touch up paint.

I'm just sayin' that he's just sayin'.

When I was young, I loved wrapping presents and did gift wrapping at the variety store where I worked. My mother and father had been florists and worked in many retail jobs and were gift wrap artists. As I aged and became less patient and didn't always have a large, hard, flat surface to work on, I became more lackadaisical and started ruing the time wrapping took, perhaps because it was put off until Christmas Eve. But I still love getting a nicely wrapped gift and take pride in properly wrapping a gift, when I do it right.

Kind of like remodeling or construction projects. I'm not very patient with the process and not willing to do it myself, but appreciative of a result when it's not just workmanlike, but artistically done. Sort of like with present wrapping, the artist brings attention, knowledge, exactness, and care to the details most people will never see or notice.

Love to wrap. Love those Target tags. Now, about the floors, I've got to say I am a stone and tile girl. I will NEVER be able to have such a lovely wood floor. Stone and tile are my bread and butter, so to speak.
